MEET OUR CEO AND FOUNDER
Fred Walakira Junior is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Friendswood Tours and
Travel, a Ugandan based Tourism and Travel company dedicated to show casing the mind
blowing nature sceneries, beauty, rich cultural heritage of Uganda, wildlife and wild heart game
parks of Uganda and East Africa at large. Born and raised from central Uganda in Kampala, Fred
has an inspiring background that reflects the person he is today, the strong core values and vision
for Friendswood Tours and Travel.
Fred’s passion for tourism began with exploring Uganda’s diverse landscapes and mind blowing
nature sceneries of Uganda, from the mist-covered mountains to the vast savannahs. This passion
inspired him to create experiences that allow visitors all over the world to discover the authentic
Uganda-The Pearl of Africa and East Africa at large.
Fred is working tirelessly to position Uganda as a premier and a top tourism destination to ensure
that tourism benefits local communities and contributes to environmental conservation.
Under Fred’s leadership, our company has welcomed travelers from over 30 countries in Europe,
United states of America, Africa, Asia, and South America, he has developed community-based
tourism initiatives, and received recognition for excellence in customer service and sustainable
tourism practices in Uganda.Â

Fred believes tourism should create positive impacts. He works closely with local communities
and conservation partners to promote responsible tourism that preserves Uganda’s natural
cultural heritage for future generations. He is a strong advocate for sustainable tourism and
believes that responsible tourism can support conservation efforts, empower local communities,
and drive economic growth. His vision is to make Uganda one of Africa’s most sought-after travel
destinations while preserving its rich cultural and natural heritage.

 Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, wildlife conservation activities, networking with industry
professionals, and supporting initiatives that promote youth participation in tourism.
When he is not planning travel experiences, he enjoys wildlife photography, exploring new
destinations across East Africa, and mentoring young professionals entering the tourism industry..
